What should you wear to a winter wedding?

The first blog post we will tackle on the Ciao Bella blog is winter weddings. Although they are not the height of wedding season, they can be super beautiful. The challenge is finding something that is stylish, comfortable chic and warm.

I went to a winter wedding two years ago and it was one of the most beautiful weddings I attended and the women guests did a great job with their attire.

Some tips I can give is to find something that’s sparkly. Dresses that have velvet and dark reds and taffetas are perfectly acceptable but try not to go for a dress that looks to chiffony and summery. The best tip I have is to dress for the season. Great colors for a winter wedding include: silver, black/gold, gold, dark red, dark greens, and blues and purples. Stay away from colors that are too bright, and really go for the seasonal colors.

Make sure you dress up that winter wedding outfit with the perfect sparkly accessories. Lots of sparkle will help add to the festiveness to your outfit and brings out the perfect element of sophistication.

For shoes, keep it closed toed, open toed shoes in the winter are very un-chic and who wants their feet getting wet in slush? We recommend a high pump in black, silver or nude color that complements your dress well. Keep in mind too you don’t have to always be so matchy-matchy. Throw on some red pumps if you’re wearing a black dress.

Now to cover this beautiful look, we recommend not wearing your long North Face coat but going for something that will bring the look together. Think velvet shrug, fur coverup, pashminas or long dress coats would look great.

While winter wedding outfits might seem somewhat of a challenge at first with a little dedication and attention to all the details you can put the perfect look together.
