What wedding trends are we going to see Summer 2011

Before we know it, summer wedding season will be upon us. This has us asking the question, what wedding trends will we see this year? Some of our predictions below.

1.) Social media - Social media will continue to play a huge role in wedding planning. You will see excitement from couples on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and they might even use social media to find vendors like photographers, caterers, or even a day of wedding coordinator like Ciao Bella Events. Brides and grooms to be will want to keep their family and friends about how their wedding planning process is going and make them feel like they are part of the planning.

2.) DIY- We think the DIY trend is here to stay. Not only is it a cost saver but it brings a personal touch to the wedding and is a true way a bride and groom can show their personality. Expect to see it DIY elements in the weddings you attend this year.

3) Eco-Friendly and Green weddings- What's more chic then being green? More brides and grooms are paying attention to the greener elements in wedding planning all the way from using recycled paper on invitations to making sure is locally fresh. Also, we'll be seeing more couples tying their weddings to charity and in many cases asking for a donation for their favorite charity then a gift.

4) Making it modern- You will find a bride choosing non traditional dresses in 2011. You'll see wedding dresses in different colors and styles, and this trend will ring through even on decor with couples opting for different table designs then the round table options. You'll see different dessert options, for example mini cupcake towers instead of a traditional wedding cake and even letting bridesmaids choose variety of dress styles in the same color choice.

5) Embracing Culture- Brides and grooms are embracing their culture and ethnicities. You'll see this reflected in the menu at the reception and the decor. This will add a special element for brides and grooms to be able to showcase their unique traditions and reflect their personalities.
